The Hornell & Dansville YMCA believes that no one should be denied membership or participation in a program because of the inability to pay. With our Financial Assistance Program, we are able to make sure those who want to participate are able to do so. Financial Assistance provides individuals and families in need with the financial support to access to Y membership and program activities.
HOW THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WORKS
Financial Assistance is granted on available resources. We use a sliding fee scale that is based on total household income, number of dependents, and special needs or circumstances to help determine the amount of assistance given. Financial Assistance is provided on a one-year basis.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
You can apply in person or online. Once your application is complete, you will need to submit it to the Hornell Member Services desk, and bring your form and all the requested documents. You can expect to be contacted within one week regarding the status of your application.
HOW LONG FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE CONTINUES
Financial Assistance is reassessed every year. You must reapply with new and/or updated forms. Membership participants must contact staff for evaluation 30-days prior to expiration and reapply every year, even if it is a renewal. Scholarships must be approved prior to program registration and does not guarantee you a spot in a program. All participants are expected to notify the Y staff handling Financial Assistance if their financial situation changes.
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
Everything about the Financial Assistance Program is kept confidential. The only people who will have any knowledge of your participation in the program are you, the branch staff responsible and, if a program participant, the Director of the program you participate in.
